Depending on what issues you would like support for our work together may be brief (4 - 12 sessions) or may occur over an extended period of time.  Brief work tends to have a more specific and singular focus than depth therapy work which provides space to look at recurring issues and how they impact many areas of your life.

People from all walks of life come to therapy.  Frequently people come to therapy because something doesn't feel good in their lives and while they've perhaps tried on their own or with friends to resolve their issues, something is still upsetting to them and they become aware that getting support from a therapist may be helpful to them. 

In my work as a therapist I come from a place of kindness, compassion and non-judgment.  I am interactive in my approach.  I find out from you what is important, what is blocking you from living the life you want and we go from there.  

    In my work as a therapist I have found that many individuals can benefit from the support and healing that can occur with psychotherapy and EMDR. We take the time to look at what is happening for you in your current life, what's not working the way you want it to. We explore how to cope with current situations, remembering, connecting to and enhancing your strengths.  We also make space to explore how past unresolved experiences influence the way you live your life today. Areas of your life we may look at include intimate, work, friendship and family relationships. 

    Another layer of healing can occur when we bring compassionate attention and awareness to painful experiences from the past.  Ways we learned to cope when we were young may be both strengths and also places where we get stuck, experience isolation, or cause difficulty in relationships today.  Psychotherapy and EMDR can provide relief, facilitate deep healing and have a profound effect on the quality of your life and relationships.
